WORLD AIDS DAY, DECEMBER 1, 2015
World AIDS Day is a global initiative to raise awareness, fight prejudice, and improve education about HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. Around the world, about 36.9 million people are living with HIV. And 2 million people get infected every year.
World AIDS Day on December 1st draws people together from around the world in solidarity to pay tribute to the millions of people living with HIV/AIDS, raise awareness of the global impact of HIV/AIDS, and celebrate victories that are allowing more people to live longer and healthier lives through increased advances and access to HIV prevention, testing, treatment and care.
Our main event on the day will be observed with ceremonial proceeding by HRH Ashi Sangay Choden Wangchuck as a chief guest, and government and corporate dignitaries therewith. Subsequently, awareness and education programs will be presented with on spot HIV voluntary testing on the day.
